Co. is honored and excited to announce Carla Ortega and Deyanira Abreu Gonzalez as the inaugural recipients of the Julia & Guillermo Avila Scholarship through the Hispanic Alliance of South Carolina’ Student DREAMers Alliance (SDA) program. Company founders – Elaine & Guillermo Avila bestowed the scholarship in honor of Guillermo’s parents and expressed their support for the SDA program, “As a first-generation college graduate who rose from poverty, I understand firsthand the transformative power of education. We are so proud that we were able to start a scholarship fund in honor of my parents.”
Deyanira will be attending Greenville Technical College to study Health Science and Carla will be attending Charleston Southern University to study Criminal Justice.
Carla and Deyanira both have stories of remarkable leadership and unwavering resilience in overcoming adversity. Their inspiring journeys exemplify the very essence of why they were selected for these scholarships.
